THE UNFORGOTTEN

KILL SITE

An eight-part true crime podcast that dives into the death of a man in rural Texas and why local, state and federal experts disagree on what — or who — killed him.

KILL SITE is the fourth season of THE UNFORGOTTEN, a true-crime podcast from Free Range Productions in partnership with The Dallas Morning News. Produced by journalists Charlie Scudder and Wes Ferguson, it takes you behind the scenes of a wild investigation into the death of a man in rural Hood County, Texas.

In December 2020, Christopher Whiteley’s body was found in the woods, his neck torn open by something unknown. The site was so gruesome that sheriff’s deputies at the scene assumed right away that it must have been a mountain lion that killed him. But when state and federal wildlife experts arrived to track the killer cat, they found no signs of an animal attack. THE UNFORGOTTEN: KILL SITE brings together all of the evidence to try and find out what — or who — killed Christopher Whiteley.
